Apartment Five Plastic Flapping w/ Head Bowed Always

Little Miss Mary Jane
told all the good girls
she was going to cut them up
real bad.

She had dirty white socks.
The kind that look like
fluffly white clouds have just
swallowed an ankle.
But Mary Jane was dirty
& so she had fluffy brown
thunderstorms
below each knee.

Eduardo took pictures
of the Virgin Mary
when she wasn't looking.
Spent years 19-24 prowling through
every gas station john
this side of the Mississippi.
He's a good Catholic boy.
Tucks discarded saints into
the back pocket of his wranglers.
Folds each girl in fours & wets
her face with water,
peels back her paper skin & scratches
dirty dirty words
on each exposed cheek.
Eduardo is convinced that
there is nothing more beautiful
than a bleeding girl & he just wants
to make things pretty.
He says the state of our stalls
symbolizes the state of our union.
Eduardo photographs
soap scum rings in order to
catalogue our demise.

Apartment five. Plastic flapping.
Broken light switch poetic.
Head bowed Always. He loved
that girl. He wanted her to cunt
him up real bad. Aesthetic apparatus.
Strapped. Unstrapped. Orgasmic.
He loved that dirty little girl.
More than Jesus loved her.
More than her mother loved her.
More than her father loved her &
he just wanted to love her real good
real bad. Tie her wrists in rosaries &
love her. Gag her mouth with those
dirty white socks & love her. Get his
hands on those tender red thighs &
love her. Wet her face, peel back
her skin & love her. Make her pretty.
Pretty, pretty red & love her.

He was a good Catholic boy.

He just wanted to worship that girl.
